INTERNAL
BACKLINKS
Internal links or internal
backlinks is a topic that is not focused on much. Normally, SEOs randomly merge
the homepage of a website with other web pages. These SEO people think that
their work is done, but by merging like this it has three losses.
1. Your hard
work done by you for the external backlinks campaign is wasted.
2. Your hard
work on the internal website structure is also wasted.
3. You are not telling anything to Google about your pages.
Now, we will be talking about the
structure of internal backlinks and why internal backlinks are so important as
well as the types of internal backlinks. Most of the experienced SEO generally
talk about external backlinks because everyone thinks that internal backlinks
can be managed anywhere anytime, and the problem started to form here only. The
first problem which was discussed in the above paragraph is that your hard
work, done, on an external backlinks campaign, maybe wasted if you are ignoring
internal backlinks. Just imagine that you write valuable content or data and
promote it to get high-quality backlinks. If the Page Rank received by external
backlinks is not distributed to all linked pages under the ranked page, there
will be no advantage of that data. Page rank or page authority is provided for
individual pages. If your single page or other external pages are linked with
each other and other pages are not passing rank to other pages, then how will
the website welfare be? So, the work of internal links or backlinks is to
distribute this page rank among all the pages of a website. In the majority of
cases, when we design the page and start posting without thinking about what
the structure of our website will be. Internal backlinks help us to develop
this structure.
There are two types of website structure which are:-
•
Horizontal Structure
•
Vertical Structure
Horizontal Structure: - When you
start posting a post, and pages randomly and link all pages with the homepage
or main pages of total content, then it is known as Horizontal Structure.
Vertical Structure: - When you
divide your pages or content into some important different-different
categories, it is called vertical structure. It is also known as silo structure
because you are creating different-different topics in a limited quantity.
So, from the above study of
internal backlinks, we came to know that internal backlinks are necessary. Now,
let see how many types of backlinks can be created and what their structure
will be. So, there is a normal misconception for internal backlinks that a page
on the menu is enough, but for a proper internal backlink, a link should be
there for the main content. The real content of the page is the main content.
Obviously, backlinks from main content are much stronger than the backlinks
from secondary content.
Internal links available on the
main page can be divided into three types. This division is not official, as
someone can divide or make it more or fewer types.
• Best
Quality Internal Backlinks.
• Medium
Quality Internal Backlinks.
• Fewest
Quality Internal Backlinks.
This classification can also work
for the external backlink. So, we can use all these three types of backlinks in
our content. But to decide what kind of backlink we have to provide for our
pages, we have to use the map. There is no standard official format for this
map. There is no official guideline from Google and the search engine for this
map, but we should have a fixed map design so that we should know where we have
kept which page and link the page with another page. This type of silo or
focused structure is generally used for a corporate or business website. It can
or cannot be used on a blog website, it depends upon the webmasters. But for a
business website, it is necessary to follow this type of structure. So in this
chart, on top, there will be a homepage or any selected page which we want to
make a homepage which will come under page1. Then coming on to level two pages
2, page 2 can be category pages, hub pages, or major topics. Page 2 can be one
page or more than that. They will always come below or after the level 1 page.
Then on level 3 pages, there should be 4 to 5 pages only.
Advantages and Benefits
• The the benefit of getting from a single topic doesn't mix with other topics and also
improves the website.
• We
get topic-wise authority. As, when we write about any topic divided into many
sub-topics, that topic is covered more deeply.
• And
sub-topic division also expresses your website authority, and it improves the
EAT score of your website.
